Connect Health , Executive Chair and Founder

Andrew founded Connect in 1989 with the aim of providing the highest level of care to people with musculoskeletal (MSK) problems. He qualified as a physiotherapist from Northumbria University in 1985 and worked at The Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh, for three years. He returned to Newcastle to take up an NHS post in MSK and Sports Medicine.
 
Andrew combines his clinical expertise and commercial experience to develop innovative new ways to meet patient needs and commissioners’ budgets. A passionate believer in the value of effective physiotherapy practice, he is a driving force for innovation within Connect, demonstrating perseverance and leadership in a challenging market.

In 2011 Andrew became a Trustee and Chair of the charity Tyne and Wear Sport, a high performing County Sports Partnership, and was a founding director of Ways to Wellness, an innovative charity pioneering social prescribing.

In 2016, Andrew became a Visiting Professor of Leeds Beckett University.
