Dudley Clinical Commissioning Group , Chief Executive Officer
Paul was appointed as Chief Executive Officer for Dudley CCG in October 2012. Over his 25 years of NHS service he has held roles in acute healthcare, Strategic Health Authorities, Specialised Commissioning and Primary Care Trusts. Paul is also a qualified accountant with a degree in Mathematics and a Masters in Leadership and Organisational Development.
Paul is currently a member of the Clinical Senate for the West Midlands, chair of the Talent Management Group for the West Midlands and co-chair of a national task and finish group which is designing the new Multi-speciality Community Provider (MCP) Contract. In the past twelve months Paul has been conducting a dual role, with new responsibility as the Interim Accountable Officer for Walsall CCG. This is a temporary role to ensure that the CCG in Walsall can improve its effectiveness.
Paul advocates a way of working that is driven by clear values; recognising that the NHS is all about people: both the staff who provide services and the public who receive them; with the ambition to maximise the potential for staff to work better together in the interests of their patients and for the public to take control over their own health & wellbeing.
He is proud to lead the Dudley Health System; his responsibilities as Chief Executive Officer mean that he holds the accountability for ensuring the needs of both Dudley people and our GP membership are met. His drive and determination to improve the health and wellbeing of the population of the Borough extends his role outside the traditional organisational boundaries.
